SCHOOL HOLIDAY CAMPS FAQ'S

  • Where are the camps held?
    We use 2 main locations depending on time of year and availability. These are Cannon Hill Secondary College and Balmoral High School. Please Check Confirmation Email for Location. Cannon Hill Anglican College Cnr JUNCTION and KRUPP RD, CANNON HILL 4170. Drop off point for camp at bend in road as Krupp Rd turns into Bent St. Walk over staff carpark to ovals behind to find the outdoor covered Basketball Courts. Balmoral State School LYTTON AND THYNNE Road, MORNINGSIDE Queensland 4170, which is 8km East of Brisbane City. Entrance is via driveway on Thynne Rd.
  • What ages do you cater for?
    Our school holiday camps are suitable for children aged 5-15 years. EMpowerME understands the needs of different age groups and offers 3 distinct age groups with modifications and variations to ensure everyone gets the most out of the day.
  • What happens if it rains?
    All our venues have indoor options to keep children out of the sun and rain entertained all day long! We have contingency plans for all weather.
  • What Sports are offered at you Olympic Multisport Camp?
    Each Camp we rotate 3 different Olympic Sports. The variety give kids the chance to perhaps try sports they have never played before and be coached by experts in that sport. Our camps so far have seen rotations of European Handball, Basketball, Football (Soccer), Athletics and Hockey. We hope to able to offer more and more sports as we grow.
  • Do children need to bring any equipment with them to camp?
    There is no need to bring any equipment to our camps; everything is provided. If children would like to bring their own sporting equipment (e.g., Basketball) it must be clearly named.
  • What do I need to provide for my child each day?
    Lunch and Snacks Drink Bottle Hat If your child has sensitivities to sunscreen then children must bring their own.
  • My child has never played the sport they are booked in for, will the camp accommodate this?
    EMpowerME holiday camps are programmed and led by experienced leaders in the sport they teach and accommodating different levels. They will also be grouped with other children at a similar level. All skill levels are catered for and beginners are more than welcome.
  • If my child has a medical condition or dietary requirements, can they still attend a camp?
    When you complete your booking, there is a form to complete before the event. When arriving at camp you can check in any medication at our first aid station where staff will store and access if necessary. Please advise staff also of food allergies so if any children need to eat lunch in a safe environment, free from allergens, we can do our best to accommodate this.   • Is there adequate first aid at each camp?
    Yes. At each camp all staff are first aid trained. We have a first aid station with a staff member in charge to report on all first aid incidents. Parents will be notified if required, or for small incidents where children can continue participating, parents will be informed at pick up.
  • Will you contact me if there are any issues with my child at camp?
    As the safety of the children is our top priority, we will contact you if there are any issues involving your child. We let children know at the start of each day what behaviour we encourage and what behaviour we have no tolerance for. Children and staff should feel safe at all times during camp and the Camp supervisor is there to ensure this remains the case throughout the day.
  • How do I book?
    Booking for camp are done online at www.empme.com.au/school-holiday-camp. The booking page will show the different booking combinations available. You can choose any combination of days for each camp, so firstly choose how many days you would like to book and then the combination. For example a camp may run over 5 days but you may choose 3 days and opt for Mon/Wed/Fri.
